Finally in the Premium Catalog!

Today’s post is all about Smashwords.com because Any Tomorrow: The Calling has finally been accepted into the Smashwords Premium Catalog.  This means that, besides being listed on the Smashwords website, it will be distributed to a range of other sellers also.  The following schedule was provided for distribution.

I submitted Any Tomorrow: The Calling to Smashwords on May 1st.

Any Tomorrow: The Calling finished conversion on May11th.

Any Tomorrow: The Calling was accepted into the Smashwords Premium Catalog on May 23rd.

By the posted schedule it should be available at Apple next week, and at Barnes and Noble,  Sony, and Kobo around the week of June 10th.

So, roughly it takes about six weeks to work through the whole process with Smashwords.  And that’s okay.  Now I no longer have to worry about what was holding up the process.  Now I have real experience to gauge the timeline of the process with.  I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Have you had a similar experience with Smashwords?  How about other distributors?  Share your experience or any other comments you might have by leaving a comment.  Thanks!

About Kevin_Fraleigh

I am a novelist, and much of my writing is predicated on the concept that within each of us is a hole. For some of us, the hole is a divot, shallow and insignificant. But for many of us the hole is a cavern, deep and expansive. We try to fill it with sex or drugs or religion, but the cavern has an insatiable appetite. This is where the dark things live―the things that fill our nightmares. The things that claw at our minds. The things that inspire the stories of horror, madness, and twisted realities. From the depths of that cavern come the seeds of my stories. Won’t you join me in the dark edges of reality? Learn more about me from my blog at anytomorrow.wordpress.com. You can find my novels at amazon.com, smashwords.com, and most eBook retailers. You can also read some of my full length short stories at http://www.wattpad.com/user/Kevin_Fraleigh

  1. A.C. Moore says:

My book Even Angels Need Miracles took about three or four weeks for premium catalog acceptance. It was distributed to Sony, Apple, Nook, a few others. The one that I want the most and is taking the longest is Amazon. Each time I check the distribution status I see the same message.

Smashwords and Amazon are working to complete technical integration.

Not sure what needs to be worked out or how long, but it’s frustrating that teh largest e-book distributor is not yet a challen for me.

  2. You can wait for Smashwords and Amazon to see eye to eye or you can use kdp.amazon.com publishing without the ISBN that you used for Smashwords. I love Smashwords, and hope one day that Amazon loves Smashwords as well. If you decide to do the publishing for Kindle at Kindle, be sure to opt out from Amazon at your Smashwords dashboard.
